China manufacturer at Stoke, Stoke-on-Trent, England
  • In 1904 the business of David Chapman & Sons (Stoke-on-Trent) Ltd had moved manufacturing to Wolfe Street, Stoke - these works were also named 'Atlas Works'. In July 1905 the company was voluntarily wound up as it could not meet its liabilities. 

  • Subsequently the business became the Atlas China Co. Ltd. The manager was William T Chapman.

  • In 1910 the business was taken over by Grimwades Ltd. In the 1930 to 1936 period the name 'Atlas China' was revived by Grimwades. 

 

 

Previously: David Chapman & Sons (Stoke-on-Trent) Ltd

 

Subsequently: taken over by Grimwades Ltd
