Location and period of operation:
Miss Cooper (Mrs C F Barker) was formerly employed by decorating wares for A.E.Gray & Co c.1925-30.
In 1931 Susie Cooper moved to her new factory, Crown Works. The event was celebrated with a new backstamp in the form of her famous leaping deer. Soon after, she launched the first of her much acclaimed pottery shapes.
Susie Cooper OBE works was renamed 'Susie Cooper Ltd' c.1961, became part of the Wedgwood Group from 1966.
Susie Cooper China was established in 1950 with Susie purchasing her own manufacturing business.
