Earthenware manufacturer of white ironstone at Sandyford, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, England. 

  • Previously there had been a partnership between Thomas Hughes, Enoch Bennett and George Bates. 

  • On the 7th December 1865 George Bates left the partnership and the business was continued as Hughes, Bennett & Co. 

  • The business was short lived, they had financial difficulties and were declared bankrupt. A Deed of Assignment for the benefit of creditors, was executed on the 5th January 1867.  

NOTE: Godden - Guide to Ironstone, Stone & Granite wares - identifies the Thomas Hughes of this partnership with the Thomas Hughes of the Waterloo Works, Burslem.
