A simple granite marker, polished front and back with rough hewn edge.
Incised with the same inscription on both sides,
and below this a shallow relief of the Staffordshire Police Authority emblem.

A simple granite marker, polished front and back with rough hewn edge. Incised with the same inscription on both sides,and below this a shallow relief of the Staffordshire Police Authority emblem.
 

Background:

John Taylor was fatally injured when pushed from a building while arresting a burglar.

The John Taylor Memorial Committee was set up following the death of PC John Taylor who died on duty on 23 November 1986. They award a serving police officer or member of the Special Constabulary who has made an outstanding contribution to the community, performed an act of bravery, or a sporting achievement.

 




Inscription: In roundel on stone, incised both sides, gold lettering:
