Tunstall Board of Health
In 1855 the township was placed under the control of the Tunstall Local Board of Health consisting of 24 elected members.
'The Public Health Supplemental Act, 1855'The chairman acted as chief bailiff. By 1886 the Board of Health had four regular committees - finance, sewers (sanitation from 1888) highways and library.
The board continued until 1894.
