The date stone over the entrance is 1888. A. T. Finney - 1947 onwards (Finney also operated the Blue Bell Pottery off nearby Barker Street).  John and Tom Finney took over the works from their father and rand the business for a number of years.  Round 1989 the business was sold to John Tams Group PLC. In 2000 the Tams Group went into receivership. Around 1999 the works were taken over by Duchess China Ltd. (a subsidiary of Grimwades Ltd.)
