Gillman Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent

Gillman Street used to run directly from Old Hall Street to Waterloo Street, halfway along it was crossed by Hordley Street.

Since the building of the Potteries Way ring road around Hanley town centre Gilman Street was cut in half as the Potteries Way covered Hordley Street. The top section of Gilman Street, where it joined Old Hall Street, was renamed 'Gilman Place'

From: "A descriptive account of The Potteries (illustrated)
1893 advertising and trade journal. Page 43" we know that
Messrs. F. and H. Bourne, Wholesale Confectioners and Drysalters, operated from Victoria Works, in Gilman Street, Hanley

on the Journal entry
