Some of the features are still visible in spite of the considerable alterations.

"Richmond Ville"

Several other large properties were built in what is now Richmond Terrace. The earliest buildings were constructed on the north side of the street near the junction with Snow Hill. In 1871 the house fronting Snow Hill was occupied by Joseph Stephenson, colour manufacturer, while the house behind called "Richmond Ville" was the residence of Elizabeth Moore, Annuitant. Her garden occupied almost the whole of the north side of the street. By 1891 nine terraced houses had been built on the south side of the street with the largest house "Fern Cottage", occupied by William Dobson, organ builder.
