Built in 1905 as brewery offices, it was
later used as Longton Police Station before being demolished in 1992. A
new purpose built police station was built on the same site. |

the date stone incorporates a Stafford knot -
one of the few examples which is correctly executed
- going from the top left, the first strand of rope should cross OVER the
other rope
and not UNDER as shown on the majority of Stafford knots.
