Born 1872 at Bourne, Lincs. Son of the late James Betson. Educated at Lutterworth Grammar School and Schola Cancellarii, Lincoln.

Married 1903, Ella Fleetwood, daughter of the late T. P. Edwards, M.D.

Member of Cheadle Rural District Council and Chairman since 1928 ; 
Member of Leek and Cheadle Guardians Committee ; 
Member of North West Joint Electricity Authority since 1931.

Vicar of Alton and Bradley-le-Moors ; 
In charge of large Munition District (St. Luke’s), Barrow-in-Furness, during the Great War.

Recreations - Tennis, Golf, Amateur Mechanics and Music. 

Heir - James Patrick Francis Betson. Born 1915.
