Married 1904, Edith Annie, daughter of the late Wm. Hy. Johnson.

J.P. County of Staffs., 1933-34 ; 
Leek Board of Guardians, 1916 ; 
Leek Urban District Council continuous since 1922 ; 
Chairman Leek U.D.C. 1933-34 ; 
Leek Hospital Committee for twenty years ; 
Elected Leek Rural District Council, 1931 ; 
Chairman and Trustee Leek Unemployment Committee, 1933; 
Member Leek Carnival and Charities Committee, 1928­1934 ; 
Secretary Leek Burial Collecting Society continuous since 1909 ; 
Secretary Leek Burial Approved Society since 1912.

Served with the Mechanical Transport Voluntary Army Service Corps, 1918.
