Bagnall is a rural parish and village area situated to the north-east of Stoke-on-Trent, straddling the boundary between the city and the Staffordshire Moorlands.
Much of the wider Bagnall area lies within the Staffordshire Moorlands, characterised by open countryside, scattered farms, and small clusters of historic settlement, while the southern fringes extend into Stoke-on-Trent’s administrative boundary, where they blend into the suburban edge around Baddeley Green and Stockton Brook. Historically an agricultural community, Bagnall developed with strong links to surrounding mining, quarrying, and pottery-related industries, while retaining a largely rural identity.
Today it remains one of the more dispersed and scenic settlements in the wider Potteries area, marking a clear transition between urban Stoke-on-Trent and the Moorlands landscape beyond.
