Birches Head Road runs from the junction of Chell Street and Hulton Street at one and to Leek Road at the other end. It joins Leek Road at the site of the Hulton Abbey.
On this 1890 map Birches Head Road is listed as 'Horse Lane' - there are only a couple of buildings on the entire lane.
