used to be New Street
Goodson Street used to be New Street but was renamed in the early 1950's It runs off Old Hall Street.
Goodson Street used to run to Market Street (now Huntbach Street), but the extension of Woolworths and Marks and Spencers cut Goodson Street short
Street to the left and Old Hall Street to the right.

Stewarts had a license to store 100 tones of explosive powder (for mining) - if you wanted to telephone them, their number was 44.
