Meir Park Streets Past & Present

Meir Park, in the south-eastern part of Stoke-on-Trent near Meir and Blurton, developed primarily as a modern residential and mixed-use area during the late 20th century.

The district was shaped by planned suburban expansion, with new housing estates, local amenities, and improved road connections built on land that had previously been agricultural or open countryside.

This page lists the present and historic streets of Meir Park and links to descriptions of the origins of street names, old maps, local developments, and the changing character of the district over time. From former fields and rural boundaries to modern housing developments and commercial areas, the streets of Meir Park reflect the planned suburban growth of the southern Potteries.

Today, Meir Park is a largely residential area with associated retail and community facilities, where its street layout reflects its relatively recent development within Stoke-on-Trent’s expanding urban area.
