Stockton Brook Streets Past & Present

Stockton Brook, on the north-eastern edge of Stoke-on-Trent between Baddeley Green and Endon, developed from a rural village and agricultural landscape centred around the brook from which it takes its name.

The area remained largely rural for much of its history, with gradual residential development during the 19th and 20th centuries extending along the main road routes linking the Potteries with the Staffordshire Moorlands.

This page lists the present and historic streets of Stockton Brook and links to descriptions of the origins of street names, old maps, local developments, and the changing character of the district over time. From old village lanes and farm tracks to later residential streets and suburban development, the streets of Stockton Brook reflect the gradual expansion of Stoke-on-Trent into surrounding countryside.

Today, Stockton Brook retains much of its village and semi-rural character, with many streets still reflecting the area’s historic landscape and its position on the edge of the Potteries.
