Weston Coyney, on the eastern edge of Stoke-on-Trent near
Adderley Green and Caverswall, developed from a rural village and farming community into a mainly residential district during the 19th and 20th centuries.
Although later housing development gradually expanded across surrounding farmland, the area retained elements of its village identity and historic road pattern.
