Cavour Ware

Little is known about Cavour Ware which appears to be a trade name used by Stanley Cliff (A Handbook of British Pottery Manufacturers; Michael Perry).
  • The company producing Cavour Ware was probably a decorator of blank ware produced by others. Most ware is decorated cups, saucers and side plates with gilding and block colours.

  • Many of the Cavour Ware marks have the place name 'Etruria'. There is a Cavour Street in Etruria and this possibly gave its name to the ware.

  • Other marks have the place name 'Longton'.
