Manufacturers of earthenware and Jasper style ware at Eastwood, Hanley and subsequently at the New Hall Works, Shelton 

the family operation spanned from c.1807-55

A number potters named Hackwood were working in the first half of the 19th C. and therefore accurate dating is difficult.

In 1856, the works passed into the hands of Cockson & Harding, who manufactured the same kind of goods, using the mark C & H, LATE HACKWOOD impressed on the bottom. Cockson retired in 1862
