Originally the partners were Thomas Blackhurst and Alfred Hulme - trading as Blackhurst & Hulme. (previously they had been in partnership with Samuel Berkin as Blackhurst, Hulme & Berkin - Berkin left in August 1888).
At some time Alfred Hulme left the business and Thomas Blackhurst was joined by Alfred Edwin Blackhurst and William Thomas Baxter - the business continued to trade as Blackhurst & Hulme.
In October 1917 Baxter left the business.
At some time Thomas Blackhurst lest the business and Alfred E. Blackhurst was joined by Wilfred Beswick - the business continued to trade as Blackhurst & Hulme.
In 1932 the business became bankrupt.
