China manufacturer at the St. George's Works  Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England

  • Around 1958 the St. George's Works were taken by William Henry Amison (a former employee of Collingwood China) - he established Clayton Bone China Ltd. It is likely that Collingwood China Ltd. stopped production at this date.

  • The St. George's Works was situated on Clayton Street - hence the choise of name for the new company.

  • In 1960 the Pottery Gazette lists the following directors: W. H. Amison, V. Copper, A. G. Devall, S. Young.

  • In December 1962 a resolution was passed that the Company be voluntarily wound up and a Liquidator be appointed.
