Manufacturers of earthenware and Jasper style ware at Eastwood, Hanley and subsequently at the New Hall Works, Shelton 

the family operation spanned from c.1807-55

A number potters named Hackwood were working in the first half of the 19th C. and therefore accurate dating is difficult.

Hackwood  		In 1856, the works passed into the hands of Cockson & Harding, who manufactured the same kind of goods, using the mark C & H, LATE HACKWOOD impressed on the bottom. Cockson retired in 1862
