"COUNTRY LIFE" is the pattern name 

The George Jones and Wardle works were very close (perhaps even in the same building) in Wolfe Street, Stoke and this is an excellent example of potters cooperation.

The George Jones mark is approximately 1930's 

George Jones operated the Crescent Pottery 

 

Mark used during the Wardle Art Pottery period.

"1923" is the pattern shape number and not the date.
