Chairman of the Local Section; 
Member of the late Wolstanton United Urban District Council; 
Member of the Education, Finance, Health and Highways Committees; 
Chairman of the Rating and Valuation Committee; 
Alderman of the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme; 
Member of the Finance, Watch, Education, Health, Highways and Buildings Committees;
Chairman of Corporation and Estates Committees 1926; 
Member of Staffordshire County Council 1931; 
Member of Public Health, Visiting Boundaries and Light Railways Committees;
Member of Public Assistance Committee; 

Chairman of Chesterton, Red Street and District Nursing Association, 1930; 
Member of Potteries Water Board
Member of the Joint Authority Board of the Bradwell Isolation Hospital.
