The partners were William Cooper, Joseph Nixon and William Dethick.

In June 1866 they were prosecuted and fined £1 0s 0d with 13s costs (J. E. Davis, Esq., Stipendiary Magistrate, Longton) for "employing a child before noon and after 1 p.p. on the same day." Reports of the Inspectors of Factories to Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State ... for the half year ending 31st October 1866. 

In October 1875 Joseph Nixon retired from the business which was continued by Cooper & Dethick.
