  • The business was incorporated as a Limited company in 1945 and by 1949 Portland Pottery were part of the Lawley Group of pottery manufacturing companies.

  • The 1951 Pottery Gazette Directory lists Edgar F. Lawley as the Chairman of Directors and the London office as Ridgway & Adderley, 30 Portland Place.  

  • In 1953 business became part of Ridgways (Bedford Works) Ltd and subsequently (1955) became a subsidiary company of Ridgway Potteries Ltd. 

  • In 1956 Portland Pottery Ltd was wound up. The name 'Portland Pottery' was retained as a trade name of Ridgway Potteries Ltd.
