Earthenware manufacturers at Shelton (Hanley), Stoke-on-Trent, England

  • The partners were Noah Robinson and John Wood. They "produced a good range of earthenwares including 'Stone China'. They had four ovens in 1836.."  (Godden Ironstone p.318)

    • Godden records Robinson & Wood as operating in Broad Street, Shelton from 1832 to 1836. (Godden Marks p.544)

    • White's directory for 1834 records them operating at Vale Lane, Shelton and Pigot's 1835 directory gives Broad Street, Shelton. (Henrywood p.212). Probably Vale Lane joined Broad Street.

  • In 1836 William Brownfield joined the business which then operated as Robinson, Wood & Brownfield at the Cobridge Works.
